Grief Work

"In a dark time, the eye begins to see, I meet my shadow in the deepening shade”  (Theodore Roethke)

Dr. Mathes understands both the emotional swings and the deadness you may feel after suffering a great loss.  Believing that catharsis is a necessary part of grieving, she provides space to express deep sorrow, anger, doubt and other conflicting feelings that may be symptoms of more complicated grief.  Dr. Mathes offers aids to mourning by encouraging rituals, imaginary dialogues and journaling.
